I can't say that my article-writing is moving foward exactly, but lately I seem to be snowing in on some kind of analogy-festival.
For example, I have just named my very very serious first journal article "Apples vs. Oranges" (...yes, seriously) and written a long introduction piece about why I am spending time comparing two entirely different ergonomics methods... (My hypothesis is that it can be done, but perhaps not on a statistically brilliant level...) The parallels to choosing between separate species of fruit are there, believe me. I guess that's the tricky thing about analyzing real-life cases that sort of just fall into your lap... You don't really have any say about why the turn of events occured as they did.
Also, I have been distracting myself from re-reading my statistics handbook because I have become obsessed with the thought that music notation scores can be used as a time-sensitive events log that can be used for ergonomics evaluation AND computer-simulated work... (NEEERD warning). I love the idea because it's a bit pretentious, but I believe in it...! haven't gotten all the quirks ironed out yet, but I feel a bizarre inner glow (?) thinking about the possibilities. Uh, yeah, we'll see what I talk about when I do my midway thesis presentation. In about a year... Aaargh...
