Accent clash and other stuff

Tuesday was an interesting cultural clash experience.
I saw a Finnish-Swedish spex production about 'Zorro', and was fascinated for 3 hours straight by the combination of chicano-mexican-californian stereotypes - and accents, mind you! - played by people with such strong finnish-swedish accents (which most swedes associate with white, fluffy moomin trolls). Also, one of them played the role of presumptive Governor-of-California-to-be Arnold Weissnigger (PC:ness was, incidentally, not the strong side of this production, much to its merit if you ask me ;). He, as opposed to the other actors, spoke in a combination of finnish-swdish and austrian. Very peculiar linguistic experience, but nonetheless a very entertaining evening.

In 20 minutes I'm going to don a purple-orange scarf and pour champagne (or some kind of bubbly) to celebrate the Première day of this year's Vera Spex Production, "Frankenstein". Lots of great music in this year's show, and I've done a little of the lyrics and choreography so I'm getting all tingly with anticipation for tonight! Even my parents are coming :)

On the downside, although marginal: my telecom operator has 'temporarily' shut off my SIM-card so my cellphone is at the mo little more than a glorified alarm clock. Thanks for that one, on the busiest weekend this month.... Grrr.

And tomorrow, it's off to Louisiana, the fameuse art museum in Denmark together with Eva, Lars and my family (Hepp!) to see the Richard Avedon exhibit and re-unite with old classmates Jenny and Maria.

Shazam.
