Follow-up to my last post:
Oh well, I jinxed it. The same evening that I wrote about how harsh yet wonderful this first-in-a-long-time 'proper' winter was, the temperature leapt up and the rain fell down and the powdery landscape became gradually squishable, then dampening, then shapeless, then dreary, then grey with rashes of gravel among the ice patches.
Fortunately for us, D and I managed to go sledding, lob some snowballs at each other and build our first and last snowmen (or snowmadams, since they both have a vaguely scandalous air about them) of the season.
And I have to admit now, a few days into the 'meltdown', that this new sunshine thing? I could get used to it. :)
