Lessons that need learning

While I apologize to for providing another bout of newfound-wisdom-without-a-context, the past few days have taught me a few things that I feel like I need to quickly write down someplace painfully visible so I don't forget. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the ceiling above my bed.
  • When all goes to hell, I learn the most valuable lessons.
  • No talent in the world can ever get me as far as persistent regular work.
  • If you're told you're promising - that means you've got a lot to live up to, not that you can live on it.
  • It's OK to get emotional, frustrated and completely impossible, as long as the wallowing ends at some point.
  • Discipline needs plenty of practice, and doesn't actually exist until there's proof of it.
  • Hard truths are pretty good medicine once you swallow them.

Bull by the horns. Thanks mom.
