This be the status

- I am approaching a deadline for my article (working title: Henriette). However, it seems that Henriette is spawning a clone article or evil twin (W-title: Henritvå, some of ye should get the aaawful pun) due to the massive amount of results I have generated. While not helping me meet the approaching deadline, it does sound tempting (merit-wise) to write two articles instead of one. What's a poor PhD student to do.

-I visited an old junior school friend today who recently became a mom! :) Lina let me hold her little son almost prior to letting me sit on the sofa, and as soon as I held him the inevitable happened: the unstoppable heel-bounce. I think I was still jiggling my heels up and down when I was allowed to sit in the sofa, sans baby. Anyways he was sweeeeet, Sixten (not a pun, that's his name - and it ROCKS) :)

- A memory of something I've repressed for a long time was awoken by the visit - about a year ago, my best junior school friend of 13 years and I broke contact completely after a traumatic realization that we no longer saw eye-to-eye. Although I've been alternating the past year between worrying about how she is and trying not to think about it, I finally got jarred into reviewing the emails we wrote. The ones surrounding the breakoff have haunted me a long time, but I don't think I've been ready to look at them until now. I hope, and in fact I'm pretty sure, that I've changed since then. She was right about some things - and in retrospect, I feel like I was right about some. I just hope it wasn't in vain that it happened, and that we both grew from it. Distance makes us wiser (I can only hope).

- Having kept Facebook in pirate english (yes, this be a full-blow option, however nerdy) for a couple of weeks (yes, really) be beginning to affect my vocabulary. Arr! Have at ye!

- I am attempting to NOT let my ongoing course in 'Theory of Science', whose literature is FULL of english words I've never even heard of, affect my vocabulary. If I start casually using words like 'propensity' in my daily colloquial, say while drinking coffee, for the love of all things that rhyme SLAP ME IMMEDIATELY.
